Saul MacNamara believes God is telling him his work is evil. For this reason, and with moral support from the Mennonites and their leader, Bishop Krehbiel, Saul leaves his career as a Korean War nuclear bombing strategist. He marries the Bishop's daughter and falls in love with her pacifist Mennonite community. However, Saul quickly grows disillusioned, because he believes 1950s prosperity has lulled the Mennonites into a dangerous sleep. He'll lead a mighty revival of their faith and
values and prevent the community's otherwise certain destruction.
But the Bishop draws a line in the sand against the unauthorized meetings and reforms. If Saul steps across, will he lose this community? His wife and family? Even
the voice of God in his life?
He Flew Too High tells the story of one man's quest to bring an awakening to a reluctant people. If you like suspense stories with a strong spiritual undercurrent, such as The Shack or This Present Darkness, this book is for you!
