Elizabeth Booth Marshall
Yesterdays are Forever reminds us that, once upon a time and not so long ago, people lived without digital technology. There was a time when a tablet was a pad of paper carried to a one-room schoolhouse and stored under a lid in a wooden desk. Some readers will relive the past as they relate to the story. Others will see for the first time, a way of life they have never known-what it was like to live in the foothills of Appalachia during the post-depression and WWII years. All will realize that we are a product of, not only our past, but the yesterdays of our parents and grandparents. The author's story speaks to the times in the same way a history book causes us to remember that America grew strong, primarily because Christian values were taught in the home, in the community and in the schools. Secondly, that the blessings on America came largely through its farmers. The story will serve to remind all generations that someday, 'this day' will become 'once upon a time', and that we bear a responsibility to live well this day. Yesterdays are forever. Elizabeth Booth Marshall is the author of I Danced in Africa. She is an experienced business writer, public speaker, and an 'artist waiting to be discovered'. A blessed mother of two, she delights in her six grandchildren and two great-grandchilden. She loves to read, garden on the hillsides, and sit on the porch. At age seventeen, Elizabeth left Elliott County, Kentucky, to 'pursue her dream'. Fifty years and three states later, she returned to Elliott County where she is now 'living her dream', with husband, Dick, on a beautiful hill overlooking Little Fork Creek and the valley of Booth Hollow.
