Wesley wrote in his journal, "I felt I did trust in Christ, Christ alone, for my salvation; and an assurance was given me that he had taken my sin away, even mine, and saved me from the law of sin and death. " This event, more than any other, launched the evangelical revival of the eighteenth century.
