Tales From Behind The Teacher's Desk is a collection of memories gathered from Beverly Carr's teaching experiences at Cannonsburg Elementary School in Boyd County, Kentucky. Upon receiving her Bachelor of Arts Degree in 1975 from Morehead State University, Morehead, Ky., Beverly began her teaching career at Cannonsburg Elementary School, where she remained for 32 years. Beverly's simple yet profound philosophy of teaching in her classroom was to create a place to nurture, inspire and provide students with foundational building blocks that would carry them throughout their lives. Throughout the years, she often used the priceless gift of humor as the perfect instrument to reach her students. During her career, Beverly received her Master of Arts Degree in 1978 from Morehead State University, National Board Certification in 2003, and was also named Wal-Mart Teacher of the Year. She has been honored by several former students, listing her in Who's Who of American Classroom Teachers. Her love for the LORD and Faith shines brightly as an active member of Unity Baptist Church, Ashland, Ky. where she continues to enjoy teaching in Sunday School and Vacation Bible School. Beverly is proud to be the wife of Larry Carr, and mother to their adult children, Robert and Bethany Carr.
