D. is professor of anthropology at Hunter College of the City University of New York, where he has served with distinction in several capacities: Acting Dean, School of Education; Acting Chairperson, Department of Black and Puerto Rican Studies; and President of the Faculty. Dr. Hodges has conducted ethnographic fieldwork among the Cajuns of Southwestern Louisiana and the Iban of Borneo. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Morris Brown College in Atlanta. He received his Master's degree and Ph. D. from New York University, under the tutelage of anthropologist Ethel J. Alpenfels. Dr. Hodges also engaged in post-Doctoral studies at Harvard and Oxford universities.
