This fiction tells the story of a semi-autocratic Emperor, Kaiser William II, and his civilian and military entourage who ruled the powerful German Reich. He was a strong man who dealt with eastern and western powers through diplomacy and war. Told from the first-person point of view, Kaiser William claimed that he was neither an anti-Semitic nor anti-Chinese. He was, in fact, the first European emperor to support building a mosque for Muslim prisoners, motivate China to modernize, and befriend Jewish intellectuals. He also created a universal health care system to protect his workers and citizens. He loved literature and read poetry. His leadership in fighting the Boxer Rebellion and the World War has influenced the world toward peace. Kaiser William was a man ahead of his time in the realm of global politics: he had a visionary understanding of the roles America and China would play in the future and an intuitive understanding of the concept of the balance of power.
