The war between Greece and Turkey ended in 1922. In 1923 the Treaty of Lausanne ratified the compulsory exchange of populations between Greece and Turkey, involving the movement of 1.5 million people. Over 50 years later some of these refugees still claim a seperate Asia Minor identity. Originally published in 1989 by Oxford University Press.
