Born mute, Ruth grew up next door to Jesus, loving him and being loved as they developed in the beautiful Jordan countryside. She was a shepherdess, talented weaver and skilled at dyeing and embroidery. He tried to be a carpenter but disappointed his father and frustrated the man he loved above any other by testing over and over with theological questions that he could not answer. Then he would be sent to Ruth to check on the sheep.

Denied marriage because of her impediment, Ruth was less than worthless in that Jewish society. She fought off a Roman Centurion bent on raping her and traders who wanted her body as much as her goods. She was well prepared for the tumoultuous life that lay ahead!
