Review Quotes: "The genius of Steven Hayward...is to take the daily slipshod passage of trivial-to-traumatic events, present it as pure storytelling and distill from it the essence of what it means to live, through times both terrible and transcendent... It's been years since I've seen this much fresh talent and wisdom." --"The Globe and Mail "Biographical Note: Steven Hayward is the author of "Buddha Stevens and Other Stories," which won the Upper Canada Writer's Craft Award in 2001 and was named by the "Globe and Mail" as one of the top 10 Canadian books of that year; "The Secret Mitzvah of Lucio Burke," which won Italy's Premio Grinzane Cavour Prize for best first novel; and "Don't Be Afraid," which was a "Globe and Mail" Best Book for 2012 and a Canadian national bestseller. Contributor Bio: Hayward, Steven After a happy family upbringing on the Hamworthy peninsula of the beautiful Poole Harbour in the county of Dorset, Steven progressed from the local grammar school to an international bank, then based in Poole, with the promise of travel and high finance. Alas, it was to be another fourteen years before he would make his first overseas business trip... to Jersey in the Channel Islands! But in the years that followed, working for several City institutions, he travelled far and wide managing relationships with large institutional clients, before settling into the compliance role of Money Laundering Reporting Officer. In recent years he has divided his time between his love of writing, volunteering and fundraising for New Ways (www.newways.org.uk), and consulting on financial crime. He lives in Kent with his wife and their beagle Ella. www.mickeytake.strikingly.com
