It takes place in ancient times, about 7,500 years ago, and in modern times, circa the 1920s in the South of the United States. In future times, it is the story of how Mazeppa crossed the Rainbow Bridge and saw what no living human has ever seen--the light magic beyond the stars, Saluki Heaven. But it is not a typical story about Salukis. It is about immortality, the perfection of being, family, and good and evil. It is about the Saluki as a role model for unconditional love and how our dogs affect our lives.
