A Boy Called Khosi delivers a poignant story of a young orphan discovering what he can offer the world.
Khosi Mbeki has never traveled outside of his home village. He has never experienced electricity, the feel of a soft bed, or even had a pet. But that all changes when he loses his parents during the AIDS epidemic in South Africa. Arriving in Vancouver, where his adoptive parents live, Khosi starts school and finds that he enjoys it. Back at his school in South Africa, the principal hit students if they misbehaved. But Khosi's enjoyment is soon derailed after he's targeted by the school bullies following a competitive soccer game. Khosi begins questioning the new life that this family has provided him and decides to run away.
The streets of Vancouver offer him a sense of comfort and familiarity. While on the streets, Khosi befriends Al, a mysterious homeless man. Al hears Khosi's talented singing voice one night as they sit around the campfire and decides to help Khosi get discovered. Al reunites Khosi with his adoptive parents and introduces him to the music industry. Khosi must face his fears and overcome his anxieties as he embarks on another new adventure!
