What is the future of mankind? The majority of our work and efforts have been expended merely to eat, be clothed and have shelter. But what would happen if you no longer needed to work for those things? What if we lived in a world where automation was able to free mankind from our struggle to survive and we were able to spend our lives in pursuit of things we wanted? 2112 is a dystopian futuristic novel about that scenario. Advances in science and strange twists in history bring us to a point where we are able to explore the stars. But upon our return to earth, what we find is not what we expected. A new beginning and the new has supplanted the old.
