Adeline and Tracy are ten-year-old animal-loving girls living in the small town of Lakeview. Adeline's Dad and Tracy's Mom are veterinarians (and business partners at Lakeview Veterinary Clinic). The town has no animal rescue organization or animal shelter so the girls start taking strays to the old barn behind the clinic, to nurse them back to health and find them loving homes. With the help of the supportive animal-loving adults in their lives, they start Lakeview Animal Rescue Club, have animal-related adventures, and make new friends (in each book) who join L. A. R. C. as volunteers!
