Brian is heading toward Buffalo Gap, an up and coming gold mining town at the foot of the Black Hills in South Dakota. A letter from a friend and previous business partner offering a job in the mining business has brought him to the wilds of the Dakota Territory in 1876. Opportunities it would seem, are endless. Brian hopes this visit will finally put his mind to rest from the turmoil of the past two years. A failed business venture in New York City has lead him to drift from job to job and town to town. But upon arriving in Buffalo Gap, unexpected discoveries will stretch his moral character as he settles into his new job as the mine foreman. If a new town and new job were not enough, the arrival of his new boss's young beautiful bible carrying niece from Pennsylvania will test his resolve to focus on the mine.
