Cass, Libby and Mandy have all suffered abuse at the hands of men. They finally escape from the abuse and embark on finding a new place to stay outside the town of Grahamstown: an isolated place where houses have been abandoned. All three women meet at a local petrol station and through conversing, they find out they have all suffered at the hands of their oppressive men and later adjust to living "free" but the trauma still exists; psychologically and emotionally. Dark emotions begin to manifest from each women as they adjust to the so-called new house they live in and in a so-called free world. Mandy begins to embark on a dark path - the path of inflicting her trauma of being abused verbally, emotionally, physically and sexually by Nick on Libby and Cass as her means of taking care of them. Cass and Libby find themselves trapped yet again by Mandy, who takes on the dark role of the oppressive husband, perhaps one that is worse than Nick and they try to escape, yet again, but this only ends in tragedy.
