John 1-21 Les Bridgeman
John 1-21
Les Bridgeman
In John's Gospel, Jesus comes into the world on a mission from the Father. He speaks boldly about himself: "I am the bread of life," "I am the light of the world," and "I am the resurrection and the life." And he backs up his claims with miraculous signs, such as raising Lazarus from the dead. Many are impressed, but some refuse to believe and successfully plot to kill him. Before his arrest, Jesus gives his disciples an encouraging farewell talk promising that they will see him again. And then he is condemned, crucified, and buried. But on the third day after his death, he rises from the dead and appears to his followers.
