Can art inspire me to think critically about...? is a book created by artist Roz Crews, featuring work by First-Year Experience Freshman Inquiry students from Portland State's Learning and Living Communities along with essays by the first ever winners of the Distinguished Socially-Engaged Art(ist) Educators of the Region (DSEAER) Award. This project can be viewed as a public archive cataloging the collective inquiry process that emerged from a series of workshops at the Portland Art Museum which aimed to explore how art can be used as primary source documents for learning about non-art disciplines. Includes texts and artwork by: Roya Amirsoleymani, Yaelle Amir, Ariana Jacob, Ralph Pugay, Kristan Kennedy, Sheetal Prajapati, Coco Fusco, Hannah Jickling and Helen Reed, Stephanie Parrish, Libby Werbel, Ethan Ashcraft, Pierce Rhemrev, Safaya Mann, Phoebe Wilkinson, Ashton Hessee, Connor Fitzpatrick, Kelly Madden, Izzy Loney, Lilly Day, Jacob Esbenshade, Hannah Caldwell, Thea Covino, and more. Published by Sunday Painter Press.
