The composition of this book was inspired by the unconditional love and spiritual guidance of my mother. It is predicated on ten years of experience conducting domestic-violence groups for court-ordered male perpetrators. I was trained in the Duluth, Minnesota, model for treating perpetrators of domestic violence. Domestic violence is about power and control over an individual disguised as love.
