Christy Roberts's story of personal faith begins with a dream. She is twenty-two years old and living a happy life in Florida. In her dream, a relative tells her she's not taking care of her baby. Though the dream is disturbing, Roberts wakes up relieved...because she does not have a child. But soon she does become pregnant.



Unfortunately, the joy of her first ultrasound is shattered by heartbreaking news. Ultimately, the diagnosis is confirmed, and further tests reveal that the baby may not survive to term.



Most of the medical personnel Roberts speaks to, as well as the father of the child, recommend that she have an abortion. However, as a Christian, she feels that she cannot have the procedure. In the thirtieth week of her pregnancy, the baby's heartbeat stops. Labor is induced; Roberts is able to spend only a few hours with her stillborn baby, whom she names Malakai, before she has to let him go.



Devastated by her loss, Roberts feels perhaps God had punished her...until He comes to her in a vision. The encounter leaves her with an enduring faith.
