This curriculum represents the first level of a three-level course designed for adolescent and adult learners of English. This is a communicative course, considering communication to be the process through which a new language is acquired and it is also one of the first desired skills to be developed. It also provides practice in all four communication skills, with a special focus on listening and speaking. This phonetics-based curriculum from units one to six, is designed for beginner students starting their learning of English at level zero. This program is designed to teach English and at the same time to teach about God through a series of Bible verses and Bible stories beginning with the story of Jesus. The bible teachings train the students in different moral values such as respect, honesty, loyalty. Unit 7 and following are related thematic lessons, to show vocabulary and grammar usage in context. The curriculum includes a variety of exercises considering the different learning styles. It provides oral practice, reading practice and comprehension exercises as well as dictations of words and sentences, writing exercises and special assignments to 'talk about' the topics learned in each lesson. Students work in matching, completing sentences, and multiple choice activities to assure enough oral practice and conversation. Vocabulary is built up in evary lesson and also presented through illustrations to facilitate students' learning process.
