This is a collection of poems about growing up number six of twelve children in a house by the creek in the nineteen fifties and sixties in the south. These poems are about the people, places and events that shaped not only my life but those of my eleven brothers and sisters. Our family was a close knit bunch of rowdy kids with loving parents who didn't always give us what we wanted but always made sure we got what we needed. The basics; full tummies, clean clothes, a warm dry place to sleep and oh yeah, a whupping when called for. A home full of love, not often spoken but always present. We were the lucky ones. Learning early what was right and what was wrong. Lessons that shaped and molded us to become whatever we chose to be. These poems are dedicated to them, my Mother and Daddy and my five sisters and six brothers. I wouldn't have the dreams I do without them.
