A Kiva is a ceremonial chamber, usually found deep within a mountain range. In this tale, 'The Great Kiva' was the chamber that belonged to the ancient Basketweavers, centuries ago. Mercedes Cisneros happened upon it, as a child before she witnessed her parents brutal murder and was kidnapped. She returns to Pueblo, Colorado twenty years later to avenge her parents. She is determined to destroy her Uncle Medina's drug/sex slave cartel or die trying. There is proof. It is hidden inside a mushroom stalagmite. Mercedes's quest is to find the Kiva that contains leverage to destroy Medina and his minions before time runs out.
