The Grass Widow

Callie Jamison thought she had the perfect life as the wife of a successful rancher and a teacher in Ellsworth, Kansas. Then her husband decided he wanted a younger wife and set Callie aside. She is a divorced woman--a grass widow. Her husband not only divorced her, he moved her into The Ellsworth House, a boarding house for single women and the local brothel. When Callie befriends some of her new neighbors, she loses her job at the school because of a morality clause in her contract. Clayton Swift is an aging cowboy. He meets Callie, but is disturbed when he finds she resides at the local whore house. Clayton has issues with whores. Callie is a strong woman when women have few rights. As a woman alone, she must find a way to survive. She uses her talents to start a business. Unfortunately, that business is with the disreputable women in Ellsworth. Clayton is attracted to Callie, but finds it difficult to reconcile the woman with her business. He wants to settle down with a wife to keep him warm at night. Could Callie be that woman?
