When late-blooming petty criminal John Lindow feels the noose begin to tighten, he decides to make a speedy exit from his Cumbria home and flee to Spain. Rather than heading for the 'Costa del Crime' the resourceful loner travels inland to seek his fortune and improve his language skills. As he blazes a trail of delinquency from Alicante to Asturias our self-educated anti-hero always finds time to see the sights, before pressing on to inflict further distress on his unsuspecting victims. On becoming entangled with international malefactors, however, the stakes suddenly become much higher...
