Irene Wilson thought that she'd fallen on her feet when she met crime boss Niall Murphy. The fact that he was old, boring and unpleasant to look at, didn't bother her. She was used to this way of life, and it was just a means towards an end. When he died suddenly she was left virtually penniless. Niall was her son Mark's father, and she didn't see why he shouldn't get his inheritance.
