Living four years in Central America, Ray Gano did not have any access to a fire arm. It is very hard to gain access to firearms and if one is caught with an illegal firearm, then the authorities will most likely lock you up and throw away the key. Jails in Central America are just like you have imagined, a living hell. It is at this time that the author realized that there was a need for realistic training for the average person who did not have access to a firearm, or could not own a firearm, as it was in the author's case living in Central America. While living in the great state of Texas, Ray Gano was involved in teaching and training tactical situation, particularly the "Tueller Drill. " Police Officer Tueller proved that an attacker with a knife could cover 21 feet (6.4 m), and stab the target before the target could pull his gun in defense. He determined that it could be done in 1.5 seconds. While living in Panama Ray Gano trained adults and young adults in his "realistic" methodology of self defense. In this book, Ray Gano covers realistic weapons for realistic people, how to choose the weapons for you, how to use the weapons and also how to "solo train" or training by yourself at home. He provides many helpful links to outside sources as well as links to many free training videos on-line covering an array of weapons that you can watch at home.
