A Framework For How Words Work
Sheri Costa Belk
This decoding and encoding program was developed out of the need for a sequential framework in order to teach all primary students how words work so that they could become fluent readers and writers across grade levels. This program was developed, adapted, and modified from the concepts found in the Orton-Gillingham Approach and 32 years of teaching experience in the regular and exceptional classrooms. This simplistic, organized format would benefit both regular and remedial educators with its direct, sequential, multi-sensory lesson plans.
