Trashy the Bear Alicia Cash

Trashy the Bear is the story of a little bear who is left behind by his family, when they relocate. He finds himself tossed in the trash and ends up in a pile at the dump with a sink at his feet! Suddenly Trashy is scooped up by a nice lady. He is washed and cleaned and soon becomes somewhat of a celebrity. The real Trashy the Bear was found in an illegal dump site on the Hiawatha National Forest by volunteers who were cleaning up the forest. Since then, Trashy has become the mascot of the annual trash collection weekend, held on the Sault Ste. Marie Ranger District, every spring. This year (2017) will mark the 20th anniversary of this event.
