Jordan lay very still from his vantage point and watched as the slender young woman belted herself into pilot's seat without performing any sort of pre-flight checklist, started the engine, and within what seemed like a very few minutes she had the plane airborne. It was a perfect getaway for Jordan, and he wasn't about to louse it up by making himself known. Not yet anyway. As he rode quietly in the cargo area among the camping gear, Jordan briefly wondered why she hadn't called the tower for runway clearance. He peeked from his hiding place out the side window, and he was startled at just how low she was flying. It seemed as if the pine trees were only a few feet beneath the plane.
