The world is at war, but from the depths of space comes a huge asteroid on a direct course for the earth. The nations at war work together quickly on a plan to destroy it, but rogue forces jump the gun, and the danger becomes a catastrophe as the broken up asteroid rains debris upon the earth. The asteroids, and the disasters they cause, send the death toll into the billions, but the nightmare is just beginning. The dead begin to awaken, seeking to feed on human flesh. Amidst this chaos, Jake and Mick Scott- military fighter pilots- seek to reunite with their friends, who are also soldiers returning home. Once they have met, they will seek some kind of safety. Ash Welles, meanwhile, is looking to take back her sister Dana from the clutches of their murderous father. But the best laid plans sometimes go to ruin, and soon, the group is on the run. Finding shelter, along with others, they may have found some kind of safety. But as they soon find out, time is running out, and all there is left to do is to escape from the dead.
