Tom Patterson
Tom Patterson was born in Melbourne in 1920 and educated at Cambridge and St. Thomas' Hospital. He worked for thirty years as a plastic and reconstructive surgeon in NHS hospitals and as a Clinical Lecturer in teaching and research at Oxford University. On retirement, he worked for ten years in the Wellcome Unit for the History of Medicine (Oxford) and in India, with a special interest in the East India Company.
