For Allie, life in a small Texas town is an adventure no matter what it takes. With the assistance of her little brother, her grease rack-appearing dog and an old sailor who suddenly blows in from out of town, a certain summer in the 1970s becomes especially adventurous. In the course of an experiment of sorts involving the business of raising fish, she learns about World War II, making new friends, and creative ways to categorize vomit. It's quite a ride, and one that should leave you laughing.
