A Piece of my Mind is a compilation of poems I have been writing in my quiet moments, beginning in 2011. These poems are an articulation of my state of mind at particular moments in time - the result of my self-reflections and thoughts. I often find myself in these moments of introspection where all of a sudden I am hit hard by a certain realization about a certain fact of life, perhaps the pain of loss or grief, the violence in the world, the transient nature of human life, the power of a mother's love etc. My mind in such instances is preoccupied - consumed by thoughts about these facts of life and on occasions I have an overwhelming urge to express my thoughts in writing. These poems are the result. Each poem is preceded by a short description of the circumstances that inspired it, to give the reader some context to the poems.
