Returning home after an extended absence, Marlon is looking forward to enjoying a nice cup of tea with his cheerful, energetic grandmother. Hoping to surprise her, he arrives on her doorstep only to find an empty, vandalised house and learns from a neighbour that Gran is in Intensive Care, having given up the will to live after experiencing trouble with a local gang of anti-social youths. When Marlon sets about investigating the situation he disturbs a hornet's nest of local crime and corruption. His methods used to resolve the problems he encounters may not always be conventional but they certainly prove to be effective and entertaining. A gripping story told in Val R. Brown's fast-moving style with a sprinkling of humour throughout.
