The experience of having twins is overwhelming on its own; even more if they are being born premature and you must spend time at the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) helplessly watching your babies fight for their lives. There is nothing you can do but watch and wait. On top of that, there is all the talk among the doctors about the risk factors associated with having premature babies and then finding out one of your twins might be in danger or may suffer from a physical problem.
