Stavros Odysseos, amateur detective, is at the airport in Cyprus on his way back to his home in New York when he meets Eleftheria, a Cypriot woman whose only son has been missing since the Turkish invasion of Cyprus. For 29 years she has searched for her son, Spyros, but the Green Line barrier that divides her country has prevented her from entering the Turkish occupied zone. When the Green Line opens in 2003, Eleftheria, with the help of Stavros, has one last chance to find her son.
