It is intended to amuse the reader, provide them with a platform to reflect, recollect, perhaps learn from the past. Though the verse is sometimes amusing, more often than not is it poignant and scathing; rarely scornful. It starts from under the cloud of sadness, and proceeds to the surprising and hopeful happenings at the end of year 2016 with historical acuity and alertness.
