Kira Freeman defends Greenwilde from the rebel witches that live in the desert, just as her father did before her. Sometimes she can imagine a life where she isn't a soldier and things are different, but she tries not to think about that. However, when she stumbles upon a secret radio station broadcasting a mysterious message, she finds herself submerged in a burgeoning revolution, fighting for the side she never thought she'd be on.
