Kayla's Crown and Glory is the story of a young girl learning to embrace her natural hair. Kayla is your everyday, happy go lucky kid. In this story, Kayla was having her usual blissful day at school when she was asked about her hair. For the first time she noticed her hair was different from her friends, and she felt sad. Kayla gets a lesson in hair from her mother and returns to school the next day with lots of reactions from her classmates. This is a story of a child learning to accept herself just as she is. It also teaches children to embrace and celebrate their differences.
