Jasom has finished college and is increasingly eager to head off somewhere in the Cornish Talisman. Before they can leave he needs to deal with the Ambassador. Just who is this enigmatic creature who has managed to fool everyone and steal aboard the ship just as it was returning to Earth. More surprises await him as he strikes a deal with the Ambassador and becomes involved in a quest to find its ancient home. Jasom is in for more surprises as he learns things he never knew about his parents. Their quest is interrupted by Admiral Qwen of the Evenset Navy who persuades Jasom to make a small but important side trip to Evenset to face the Order of the Crystal Crowns before they can head on to the planet called Gruetok. As they approach their final goal Cornell tells him that the Cornish Talisman's missing flyer is aboard one of the most dangerous ships of the renegade Renland Navy and it is just leaving Gruentok. As they pursue the enemy ship Admiral Kingston must plan carefully; a wrong move could cost them everything. He plans an extremely bold move but destiny is not always kind. Although he finds his missing flyer the cost he incurs may be too much for him, Arial, and their families.
