Adding the Duvalier regime to the equation, Haitians themselves have caused their disenfranchisement. By the year 1987, every single Haitian was either hopeful or convinced that change was on the way. Big change it was: the country has been unstable by the political culture which is: "you to get out so I can get in." Almost two decades later, Haiti has remained the focus of the world. In March 2004, under the influence of France and the United States, the United Nations Stabilization Mission (MINUSTHA) set foot in Haiti in order to "reestablish" peace and cohesion. Contrarily to the International community's expectations, violence has worsened as a result of the ousted President Jean Bertrand Aristide, on February 29, the same year. Living under harsh conditions, many Haitians had hoped for a speedy political relief. As many have said, it is as if the country has been cursed. Just about two years later, the "Land of Freedom" plunged into the deepest anarchy one could have ever imagined. It has been a complete confusion and a never-seen chaotic deterioration of all aspects of Haitian society....
