Mary Dodds was brought up mainly by a bad father, who abused her when she was only 6 years old. Her mother didn't pay enough attention to Mary, as she was always ill. When Chris Roberts found her disconsolate one day on a park bench, he immediately invited her to meet his mam and sister Amy, who, with Chris, took an instant need to look after her. Mary soon became part of the family, and when her mam, and then her dad, died later, she became an accepted daughter and sister to the three of them; Liza, Chris and Amy. During her time with them, however, the abuse she had received from her father made her think that by doing the same to Chris, one night when he was feeling miserable, Chris would appreciate it? The way he responded to her advances though, shocked her, and she then tried everything she could to make Chris love her properly. In fact, she became obsessed with him, which made it very difficult for him and his lovely girlfriend, Faith. Chris had his own problems also, as he became anxious and depressed, more so after landing a position of management at the store where he had worked since leaving school. Unfortunately, as Mary started to realise that she couldn't have Chris all to herself, she resorted to blackmailing him! How could this now beautiful young lady resort to such measures?
