The Kahler Files #4
Eric Safflind
Cuba has rebuilt the Russian nuclear reactor complex in Cienfuegos. It will begin generating electricity on March 28, 1999, the day of the Cuban-American baseball game in Havana. Fidel Castro plans to interrupt the game and give a triumphant, televised speech at the reactor. The Collective, Adrian Kahler's old enemy, plans to set off a massive explosion and reactor meltdown during that speech. Castro and nearly every top Cuban government official will die. The cloud of radioactive debris will extend to Miami. The Collective plans to take control of Cuba and use it as a politically sovereign base from which to launch its bid for world domination. Kahler's operatives must struggle through a labyrinth of political intrigue, murder, and mysticism as their lives and the fate of the world hang in the balance.
