This story takes place in Troezene, Greece, where a young boy named Theseus lives. Theseus lives with his mother and his grandfather who take care of him. His mother, Aethra remind Theseus that his father is the King of Athens and he can't see his father until he is older. Theseus is excited about seeing his father and the adventure to come. At first he thinks he is ready, and at such a young age. To prove him wrong, his mother asks him to try and pick up a boulder. The boy tries, and then fails. She said when he could move the boulder; he will be strong enough to leave.
