The story narrates in first person the story of Nathaniel Wingate Peaslee, a professor of economics at the University of Miskatonic that between 1908 and 1913 suffered an inexplicable amnesia and personality disorder whose background will try to find despite the terrible things you can find out . The people closest to him leave because of the strange behavior that developed during the five years of amnesia, except his son, Wingate Peaslee, who later entrusted through a letter every detail of the story that is unearthing about what happened. Have recovered after, strange dreams haunt him every night and every time more tormenting him.
