La Rajeanne is a fictitious love story set in the small town of St. Mark, located in 1950s Acadian Louisiana. The story revolves around Cajun newlyweds Raleigh and Jeannelle d'Armand who marry shortly after Raleigh's return from Korea, and they build their home-La Rajeanne-atop Teche Levee overlooking St. Mark's main street. Everyday life brings joy and sorrow, when the couple's lives, along with those of family and friends, merge with every new drama that unfolds.

Jeannelle's parents, Carlton and Lila Faye LeJeune, work to maintain their businesses, defying numerous trials as they watch their beloved daughter begin her life as a married woman.

The couple's neighbors, Masel and Suzette Melancon, struggle together when a series of medical issues surprises them both, threatening their ability to persevere. Meanwhile, Jeannelle's friend Balin Matherne valiantly hunts for true love, and Rena Monet, recently returned from abroad, yearns for a fresh start.

A deadly afternoon weather event brings tragedy, but also brings hope, as the enduring Cajuns of St. Mark work to rebuild their town, their homes, and their lives.
