Dr. Caroline Blanchard has little interest in being a part of the wealthy Hamilton family. She would rather devote her time to helping sick children at the Children's Hospital where she works as a surgeon. But her mother, Charlotte Brighton, has insisted Caroline visit her at Hummingbird Cottage and meet their recently discovered family. Before she can even settle at her mother's home for a visit, however, she finds someone has followed her to Lake Tenkiller - someone who plans to kill her. Her rescuer, Detective Alex Whitefeather, has an agenda of his own. He's not sure Caroline is who she says she is. Does being a Hamilton have something to do with the killer on her trail, or is it something more?
