Professor Scott Llewellyn is the keynote speaker at a conference on the early settlers of Middle Plantation. He was also Adam Clay's college roommate. After a heated argument in a restaurant, Adam walks out leaving Scott sitting at the table. In the morning Scott's body is found on the palace green murdered execution style. After evidence is planted and a warning by a stranger of CIA involvement, Adam is forced to go on the run to solve the murder before he goes to jail for a murder he didn't commit.
