Forty Days that Changed the World is a narrative history of the early Christian church from the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus through the end of the Apostolic Age and the death of the last witness to the resurrection. Dr. Rowe describes how Jesus physically rose from the dead and appeared on ten separate occasions to hundreds of witnesses. He then follows those witnesses, as well as Paul and the first converts, as, even in the face of persecution and death, they created the Christian religion and established churches throughout the Roman Empire and in Armenia, Parthia, Scythia and India by the end of the first century. This book is thoroughly researched from the earliest sources available, including the canonical and non-canonical gospels, the Acts of the Apostles and accounts that purport to be the Acts of individual Apostles, the letters of Paul, Peter and John, the writings of the Early Church Fathers from Clement of Rome through Jerome, and the histories of Eusebius, Josephus, Tacitus, Suetonius and Cassius Dio. Dr. Rowe presents an accurate account of the origins of Christianity and, in the course of doing so, he presents a convincing case that the resurrection of Jesus was a true historical event.
