The Power of Self-Knowledge: An Awakening Consciousness is written in the spirit of an African Proverb called Sankofa and contains remembrances and poetry composed by the author. "Sankofa is a word in the Twi language which translates as: "It is not wrong to go back for that which you have forgotten." Wikipedia free encyclopedia Margaret's interest in her African history began at a young age when it was not acceptable and when questioned it was as though there was shame associated to even say the word out loud. The author wrote this book to encourage the education of all of our young people on the histories of all to inspire and improve our ability to move forward, create an environment of love and respect for self as well as each other in all of our communities within our great country.
